Offline address book not updating 2016

Then check the mailbox Exists (See Check for existence of mailbox sections below).1. The Mailbox SHOULD be in the right hand window (Providing you are in the correct administrative group, on the correct server, and in the correct mailbox store! Remember with Exchange 2007 / 2010 you create the mailbox with the Exchange system Manager anyway! On the Exchange Server, Start Ensure “Hide From Exchange Address Lists” is NOT ticked.

If you receive an error message then you can investigate further (Note: Set your Outlook client to send you a delivery report on the test email as well).

To view the available objects, use the Get-Global Address List, Get-Offline Address Book, and Get-Address List cmdlets.

Note: The room list that's required for an ABP is an address list that specifies rooms (contains the filter New-Address Book Policy -Name "All Fabrikam ABP" -Global Address List "\All Fabrikam" -Offline Address Book \Fabrikam-All-OAB -Room List "\All Fabrikam Rooms" -Address Lists "\All Fabrikam Mailboxes","\All Fabrikam DLs","\All Fabrikam Contacts" Address Book Policy routing (ABP routing) controls how recipients are resolved in organizations that use ABPs.

24/02/13If you create a new user, give them a mailbox, and they seemingly fail to appear then don’t panic! The easiest way to do this is simply connect to Outlook Web Access, and query the GAL directly (OWA uses the GAL no the OAB like Outlook running in cached mode does). The User/Mailbox IS listed on the Server But NOT in Outlook.

Firstly and fore mostly: If you do anything in Exchange: Apply the “cup of coffee rule”, never make a change then go and prove that change works straight away! However most of us work in the real world and you have a user who needs to use this mailbox yesterday! Remember, if you are looking at the Global Address List in Outlook then you are NOT looking at the Servers Global Address List*.

Address book policies (ABPs) allow you to segment users into specific groups to give them customized global address lists (GALs) in Outlook and Outlook on the web (formerly known as Outlook Web App).

I also tried other different options such as, recreating new GAL, reboot server, restart Exchange File Distribution service, checked IIS that OAB is available there, but nothing worked.

After completing this tutorial you will have configured Microsoft Outlook to always reference the latest version of the global address book directly from the email server rather than referencing a downloaded local copy. After following these steps, you will only be able to access the global address book while Outlook is connected to the server.

POA configures public folder distribution for Exchange 2007 OABs, but Outlook 2013 does not support downloading the Offline Address Book from the Exchange server public folder.

Outlook 2013 supports only OAB version 4 which can be downloaded only if web-based distribution is configured for OAB.
